Maldives on a Budget
This is part 3 of 4 blogs on Maldives Travel Guide.
Maldives on a Budget
It is not that Maldives cannot be planned on a Budget but it would leave you to stay in hotels that you normally stay in any city or tourist destination. The specialty of Maldives are its water villa and they do come with a price. But every penny you spend here will be worth it, we can assure you that. We have thought of the perfect way to help you create fantastic holiday stories with your family or your better half and all this is just a phone call away.
For the Indians booking a trip to Maldives, here are some recommendations:
This travel agency took care of all our bookings, right from flight tickets, airport transfers and hotel bookings. The choice of hotel and room type was ours. But they helped us in getting huge discounts. All you need to do is ”tring-tring”. They will call you back with all the information you inquired about. If you are happy with the price quoted, give them a go-ahead and they shall take care of all the bookings. Hotel invoice and flight tickets will be mailed to you while you are sitting relaxed sipping coffee. And this is all you need to do to book a holiday with them. Simple isn’t it?
Flight: SriLankan airlines from Mumbai to Male via Colombia

> Since our holiday was pre-booked we did not have to show any money. Otherwise, you need to have sufficient money to show for the duration of stay (US$100 + $50 per day)
> Travel card or International credit card, in case of emergency and personal shopping
> Lot of the resorts are adult-only. Please check if you’re traveling with kids
> Alcohol is strictly not allowed from/to Maldives. However, it is served on the resort. We had a traveler who bought alcohol at the airport’s duty-free zone but had to dispose it.
> You cannot carry any of the sea shells home. Nature remains undisturbed
> Also check on the immigration website for any regulatory changes. We had a smooth immigration process. Nothing at all to worry about.

Best time to Visit Maldives
The months between December-April are best time to visit Maldives, when there is less rain and lower humidity. Sea is comparatively calmer so you can enjoy snorkeling and other sports activities.
Totally depends on the resort you pick.
We booked our stay at ‘Centara Ras Fushi Resort & Spa’. Expect to spend around INR1,30,000 per couple for 3 nights, 4 days inclusive of visa, sea transfers, meals and unlimited drinks! Add this to your flight tickets.
Remember – 1) Your travel is always cheaper when you book via travel agency as they get more discounts 2) Always book an All-inclusive package so you don’t have to spend a penny more than what you planned
> If your flight has odd timings, book a cheaper room at the resort for a day till you come out of the jetlag. Upgrade your room for the next day
> Try to pack clothes which you can easily pull off on your swim wear and walk to the restaurant for meals, cause all the other times you will be pretty much in waters.
> Charging point is universal. Resort will provide necessary chargers if needed.
